There are some crucial victories in athletes’ lives that determine their future career.

Arsen Julfalakyan, World and European champion, silver medalist of the Olympic Games, was not an exception.

Greco-Roman wrestler told Mediamax Sport about his most important victory for Unforgettable victory series.

I had many huge and significant victories, though I consider the gold medal of 2009 European Championship to be decisive and crucial one. It was a vital victory for me; had I lost that medal, maybe I would have thought of finishing my career in sports and started working in science.

My childhood friend Khosrov Melikyan had departed for USA back then. We were included in the Armenian national team and made our first steps together; I couldn’t imagine what I was going to do without him.

I came back with nothing from 2008 Olympic Games and could not decide what to do, but the excellent victory in European Championship gave some food for thought.

I made my final decision on what I wished to do further. I understood that sport should be my priority, while it is never late to work in science.
