Armenia junior freestyle wrestling team has won the international team competition in Moldova.

The team’s manager Avetik Vardanyan has told Mediamax Sport that the Moldova tournament was the first preparatory stage ahead of the European Championship.

“The boys did what was asked of them. They got the job done and I am happy. They had four matches each and we were able to assess their form. This was their first international tournament after the Armenian Championship. It was important that they compete before the big European Championship,” said Vardanyan.

The manager has added the team will resume training on 30 May in Tsaghkadzor. There will be another tournament before the championship, as well as training camps in Russia and Armenia.
