Pashik Alaverdyan, Secretary General of Armenian Weightlifting Federation and Head Coach of men’s weightlifting team, is going to present a proposal.
After the disqualification of the Armenian weightlifting teams for 1 year, he decided to propose to legally penalize the use of prohibited substances.
“All those responsible for the violations: athletes, coaches and directors of sports club should be penalized, and I will propose up to 2 years in jail. Many countries have already adopted similar punishment. It is a pity we didn’t have the relevant law before, but it’s not too late now,” Pashik Alaverdyan stressed.
