Recently President of the International Weightlifting Federation Tamás Aján held a meeting with representatives of 9 disqualified federations in Kazakhstan.
Head coach of the Armenia team and Secretary General of the Armenian Weightlifting Federation Pashik Alaverdyan also attended the meeting.
He told Mediamax Sport that the topics of discussion are secret and the participants decided not to disclose them.
Meanwhile, Armenian media circulate rumors that disqualification of Tigran Martirosyan and Hripsime Khurshudyan won’t end in May 2018.
“The final decision on that matter hasn’t been made yet. We will talk about these two athletes and the 1-year ban of Armenia at the IWF congress on November 27-28 in USA. The congress agenda contains multiple issues, including the possible exclusion of weightlifting from the program of the 2024 Olympics,” said Alaverdyan.
