Former nine-time world champion in 3 weight categories Vic Darchinyan wishes to establish a promotion company, which will defend the rights of Armenian boxers as well.
Currently Darchinyan is in Armenia and in addition to enjoying his vacation he holds various meetings.
“We have a number of great athletes, though they will not be able to succeed internationally if they train only in Armenia. They need training camps in U.S., where there are sparring competitors. Training with Mexican boxers would be especially useful. Definitely my name will help our athletes appear on television, but they will have to build professional career on their own,” Darchinyan said.
Darchinyan noted that he will fully devote himself to promotion works in about 2 months, as currently he is preparing for the match with Evgeny Gradovich.
“In 2017 I decided to finish my professional career, but I received an offer to fight with Gradovich. He is a world champion, and I wish to get my 10th title, that’s why I agreed. I held a match and then send the video tape to his team, but I haven’t got the answer yet. I will wait for 2 months, and if they don’t answer me, I will finally leave sport and work for my own company,” he noted.
