Double world, triple European champion and Olympic Games bronze medalist Greco-Roman wrestler Artur Aleksanyan was announced as the best athlete for the second year in a row.
The federation of sports journalists summed up the results of best sportsmen elections today. Federation informed Mediamax Sport that 34 journalists took part in the voting.
The top 10 looked like this:
Mihran Harutyunyan ( European games silver medal), Harutyun Merdinyan (World Cup Tournament winner, European silver and World bronze medal), Tigran Martirosyan (European champion), Artur Tovmasyan (World Cup silver medalist, Universiade champion), Arman Yeremyan (European silver), Tigran Kirakosyan (European Championship winner, World Championship silver medal), Aram Avagyan ( European Championship bronze medal), Andranik Karapetyan (European Championship bronze medal, World Championship 4th place) and Smbat Margaryan (European Championship silver medal, European Youth Silver medal).
Armenian chess men’s team was announced as the best team: They were the second in European Team Championship and the third in World Chess Championship.
Mediamax Sport’s top 10 looked like this: Artur Aleksanyan, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Harutyun Merdinyan, Mihran Harutyunyan, Tigran Martirosyan, Andranik Karapetyan, Smbat Margaryan, Tigran Kirakosyan, Artur Tovmasyan and Aram Avagyan.
