The freestyle wrestling team of Armenia is holding a training camp in Yerevan getting ready for Baku 2015 European Games.

The opening ceremony will take place today but the freestyle wrestling competitions will kick off on June 17.

Mediamax Sport was present at the training and presents the opinions of the wrestlers regarding the upcoming Games.

World and European champion Davit Safaryan

We have had three training camps, which went well. I am in a good form and will spare no effort to return with a medal. My main opponents are the representatives of  Russia, Azerbaijan, Turkey and Georgia, however, the wrestlers of other countries have also managed to grow, thus, there are no easy opponents.

European bronze medalist Garik Barseghyan

Armenian nation has always been a winning one and we are going to Baku to win. These are the first-ever European Games and everybody wants to win medals. I also want to win and hoist our flag.

U23 European champion Volodya Frangulyan

Beyond a shadow of doubt, we won’t be warmly received in Baku, but we will go all out to win. All of my opponents are strong but I am also well trained for the Games. The carpet will show the rest.

European silver medalist Musa Murtazaliev

I am not an Armenian but I represent Armenia. So participating in these Games is highly important for me too. Wrestling is a sport where you cannot promise anything, but I am resolute and will do my best to fight the best I can.
