Athlete Gayane Chiloyan is only 15-year-old. She is the youngest member of Armenian Olympic team.

At the tournament in Artashat she won a quota to Rio-2016, where she will compete in 200m running. Mediamax Sport presents the interview with Gayane.

- Gayane, you’re only 15, but you will take part in the Olympic Games already. Our readers don’t know you well. Could you tell about yourself?

- I completed the 9th grade this year. I manage to combine education and training, even though it’s a bit difficult sometimes. I won an Olympic quota on the day after my graduation ceremony.

- How did you win it?

- I think I trained well. Besides, I was inspired when Levon, Amalia and Diana from our team won quotas. I followed their example and ran fast.

- How did you get into athletics?

- I ran a lot in the streets, I was an active child. My aunt used to do athletics and took me to a training. When I came to the stadium and began running, I outran everyone. I joined the team, and I loved athletics instantly.

- Did you expect to win an Olympic quota?

- To be honest, I did not. My coaches always believed I would take part in Olympics one day, but we didn’t expect it to happen this year. It’s a great achievement for me in my age. We all understand that I cannot compete for a place in top three in Rio, but I will try my best to make my coaches proud.

- Which Armenian athlete inspired you the most?

- Robert Emmiyan. He registered wonderful results, became a champion and record-holder.

- Whom do you call first after performance?

- My coach. I always get good advice and help.

- What is your favourite film genre?

- Horror and sport-themed. I especially like Fast Girls film.

- Gayane, finish the sentences. Going to Olympics at a young age is…

- A great success.

- Athletics is a sport that…

- Should be understood and loved.

- I succeeded because…

- I trained very-very much.
