Armenia’s Shant Sargsyan takes silver in U18 Word Chess Championship

Armenian grandmaster Shant Sargsyan has won the silver medal in the U18 World Chess Championship held in Mumbai, India.

Sargsyan earned 8.5 points out of 11 possible and finished second. Another Armenia representative Artur Davtyan took the bronze in the same age group with 8 points.

The champion is Rameshbabu Praggnanandhaa (India), who earned 9 points.

Mumbai also hosted the competition in other youth categories (U14 and U16 World Championships), but Armenian players involved in them did not take prize winning places.
