Men’s chess team of Armenia is completing its training camp in Tsakhkadzor today. The training camp started on April 2.
The Armenian chess players are preparing for the World Team Chess Championship due in Tsakhkadzor on April 18-29.
Head coach Arshak Petrosyan told Mediamax Sport correspondent that they held sports trainings in the morning and chess trainings in the evening.
“We mainly focused on analyses, and discussed and tested possible solutions for the game. The team is mentally ready and will do its best to win medals”, said Petrosyan.
According to him, playing in Armenia has both positive and negative aspects. “Beyond doubt, the “walls of your native house” greatly help, but it also makes our responsibility twice heavier. We already feel the great interest the World Championship has sparked in our country. We will spare no effort to rejoice Armenians”, he said.
The head coach also noted that during the tournament the members of the team will be announced by their rating – Levon Aronian, Gabriel Sargsyan, Sergey Movsisyan, Vladimir Hakobyan and Hrant Melkumyan.
