18-year-old Edmon Nazaryan, son of Olympic, World and Europe wrestling champion Armen Nazaryan, has won his first European title.
Edmon Nazaryan took the gold medal after the impressive 7-3 win over Vitaly Kavayev (Russia) in the final match in 55kg weight category.
“I am so happy to win the gold in the senior tournament. This is a start for me, I have done everything possible to take this medal,” Nazaryan told the International Wrestling Federation.
According to the young champion, he had a talk with his father, head coach of the Bulgarian national team Armen Nazaryan. “He told me not to be afraid, because I already won. He told me to just wrestle and fight until the end. In wrestling, the mat is a warzone,” said Edmon Nazaryan.
