Armenia’s Greco-Roman wrestling team is training in Yerevan ahead of the year’s first tournament.
Mediamax Sport has attended the training session today, which the Armenian team held jointly with Bulgaria wrestlers. Acting head coach of the Armenian team Eduard Sahakyan has told that his men will compete in the tournament in Nice on January 18-19.
Sahakyan will take the following athletes to Nice: Rudik Mkrtchyan (55kg), Gevorg Gharibyan (60kg), Slavik Galstyan (67kg), Malkhas Amoyan (72kg), Karapet Chalyan (77kg), Ruben Gharibyan (82kg), Maksim Manukyan (87kg), Artur Aleksanyan and Artur Shahinyan (97kg), and Davit Ovasapyan (130kg).
“After the Nice tournament we’ll have another training camp to prepare for the European Championship. Then, we’ll pick the squads for qualification events. We are going to fight for 4 Olympic quotas,” said Sahakyan.
