Armenia will be represented by only one wrestler in Buenos Aires 2018 Youth Olympics, Sahak Hovhannisyan (60kg). The games are to take place on October 6-18.
The Greco-Roman wrestler earned the quote a month ago by winning the Cadet European Championship in Skopje.
“Sahak performed very well in Skopje, all his wins were impressive. He has individual training for the Olympics and will participate in the training camps with the junior team as well. We will do everything to get him in the best form for the Olympics so he can compete for a medal,” said head coach of Armenia’s youth team Gagik Khachatryan.
Hovhannisyan performed in Skopje with a hipbone injury and the coach says he is recovering well. Soon the young wrestler will be able to compete in international tournaments.
