Olympic, three time World champion Artur Aleksanyan has won his fourth European championship.

Armenia’s Greco-Roman wrestling team has returned home today and Aleksanyan has shared his impressions with the press at the airport:

The fourth gold medal was harder to get, because I didn’t have the best performance in the last two European championships due to injuries. But this year everything was fine and I became champion.

I was in good form and wrestled well in every match. I can say I got what I went for to Kaspiysk.

As usual, there was some nervousness, but you should be able to find the right way to leave it out and do your job.

Yes, I won without ever conceding a point, so my win might seem easy to some people. But it wasn’t easy at all, and every match was difficult.

This victory is important to our country and people too, so I dedicate this win as well to our heroic soldiers.
