Armenia’s freestyle wrestling team is preparing for the Senior U23 World Championship that will take place in Poland.

The team is comprised of Gevorg Tadevosyan (57kg), Ghazar Hambardzumyan (61kg), Khachatur Papikyan (70kg) and Hrayr Alikhanyan (74kg).

Head coach Habetnak Kurghinyan told Mediamax Sport he’s not taking the full squad to Poland as the team doesn’t have enough strong wrestlers in that age group.

“We selected our best athletes. They performed well at Stepan Sargsyan Cup in Vanadzor too,” said the coach.

The team will train in Olympavan and at the Yerevan State Sports College of Olympic Reserve.

The wrestlers will travel to Poland on November 23.
