The Executive Committee of the United World Wrestling decided at the session that 2018 and 2019 World Wrestling Championships will take place in October.
The Armenian Wrestling Federation stated on its website that championships were held in late August or early September since 2005.
However, the United World Wrestling found it better to hold World Championships in October. The organization explains this decision by optimization of the audience and expansion of the number of participants.
“We believe that this schedule offers athletes and fans many various ways to enjoy wrestling,” said President of the United World Wrestling Nenad Lalovic.
2018 World Wrestling Championship will be held on 22-28 October in Budapest and the 2019 Championship will be held on 7-13 October in the place to be decided.
