Las Vegas will host qualifying World Championships from September 6 to 10. The members of the Armenia Greco-Roman wrestling team, which is holding its final training camp in Yerevan, have told journalists about their expectations.

Roman Amoyan (59 kg)

I believe the World Championships mat will show everything. What matters for now is that we have no injuries. I hope to participate well and to attain good results. The World Championships is a highly responsible tournament for us.

Mihran Harutyunyan (66 kg)

We have got ready for the World Championships very well. We had two training camps. I hope to fight well. I believe I will earn an entry and win the World Championships. I apparently want to become World champion more. But it will be a double success. I hope we will return with the six possible entries.

Eduard Sargsyan (80 kg)

I am in good form. It’s yet too early to speak about expectations. I expect to pick up a medal but can’t say what color it will be.

Maksim Manukyan (85 kg)

We have trained very well and we are leaving for the Championships to return with the gold.

Edgar Khachatryan (130 kg)

I am in good form and I hope to fight well. My primary goal is to be qualified for the Olympic Games.

I am ready for my first tournament among adults. I am not worried. The bronze medal won at the Youth World Championships helps get ready for this tournament more confidently.
