Armenian female weightlifting team has been having trainings in Abovyan since October 15.
The team’s head coach Artashes Nersisyan told Mediamax Sport that they continue getting ready for World Ranking Championship.
“Anna Govelyan, Isabella Yalyan, Nazik Avdalyan, Sona Pogosyan and Hripsime Khurshudyan will take part in the WC. We will leave for Kazan on October 29 and have our last preparation trainings, and will go to the U.S. in November”, Nersisyan said.
World champion Nazik Avdalyan, who wasn’t participating in championships for a long period due to health issues, will try to compete as successfully as possible.
“We certainly aren’t thinking about high kilograms .Nazik hasn’t trained for 5-6 years and the WC will be a preparing stage for her towards European Championship and the Olympic games next year”, he said.
The coach also said that they will try to keep the 2 ranking places they have in the Huston Tournament. “ If we compete well, we will get one extra place as well”.
Weightlifting World Championship will take place in Huston, U.S, on November 20-29.
