Yesterday a member of Armenian boxing team Vladimir Margaryan had to leave the competition in the Olympic Games due to an injury.
Head coach of the team Karen Aghamalyan told Mediamax Sport that the injury to the boxer’s brow is rather deep and will take some time to heal.
“Vladimir received an injury to the brow during the previous fight, and it showed at this one. The doctors stopped the fight in the first round. I can say though that Vladimir was prepared well, and it’s a pity that he had to leave the competition in this way,” Aghamalyan said.
Other Armenian boxers are Narek Abgaryan, scheduled to fight on August 13, and Aram Avagyan and Hovhannes Bachkov, who will enter the competition on August 14.
