International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach has arrived in Rio de Janeiro, where Summer Olympic Games will be held on August 5-21.
Upon arriving, he met President of the Rio 2016 Organising Committee and of the Brazilian Olympic Committee, Carlos Nuzman, and IOC Member in Brazil Bernard Rajzman.
Bach was also greeted by the volunteers who came to Rio from all cities of Brazil.
“There are high expectations for these Games because of the passion Brazilians have for sport and their joy of life. We will have a great Olympic atmosphere a la Brazil here in Rio,” Bach said.
IOC President also visited the Olympic Village, where athletes from 129 delegation have already took residence. Afterwards, he had breakfast with athletes.
“The Olympic Village will be fantastic. The athletes are happy, the excitement is building up.”
