- Gor, why did you choose long jump?

- I was good at athletics since school. When I started training, I told my coach that if I don’t specialize in long jump, I won’t train. That is how we began working together.

- What are the peculiarities of long jump?

- You need to run, jump and land right. It’s the little things, but you have to perform them seriously. It is a struggle for centimeters, a little mistake and the whole jump is ruined.

- You lived and trained in Brazil. What is the country like?

- I lived there for 1,5 year, I’m familiar with Brazil.  It’s a very impressive country, but I would like to remark on the people especially. Everyone has a cheerful attitude despite many problems and hard life. I like Brazil for that cheerfulness.

- Everyone is talking about viruses spreading in Rio. What do you think of this news?

- I don’t take it seriously. Media make it look like an epidemic. In fact, there is no danger. I keep in touch with my friends there, and they say that we’ll get back to Armenia with no viruses (laughs - edit.).

- You won the last quota for the athletics team. Did you believe you would join your friends?

- I have been waiting for a long time to win Olympic quota, but injuries made the road to it longer. I fought to the end and managed to bring another quota to our team.

- This will be your first Olympics. How do you feel?

- I am immensely proud to represent Armenia. Everyone wants to participate in such a significant competition, and I am no exception.

- What will you strive for in Rio?

- Perform as well as I can, give my best result.
