President of Armenian Olympic Committee Gagik Tsarukyan had a meeting today with Armenian delegation to Rio-2016.
This is the first time Armenia sends 33 athletes to the Olympic Games.
“We are ready now to win medals. I expect more than one, as we have a very strong team. Dear athletes, I know that you are prepared to fight till the end for our country. We have real candidates for medalists, and the entire nation is anticipating your victory,” said President of Armenian Olympic Committee Gagik Tsarukyan at the meeting with the athletes.
President of the Olympic Committee also spoke of the safety of the Armenian delegation and noted that they will be protected: “We compete against not one country, but the whole world. We will keep the honour of Armenian nation. I should notice that swimmer Vahan Mkhitaryan will be our flag bearer at the opening ceremony.”
The Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro will be held on August 5-21.
