Yuri Vardanyan to be buried at Komitas Pantheon in Armenia

Acting Prime Minister of Armenia has formed a commission to make the decisions regarding the farewell to champion of the world, Europe and Olympic Games Yuri Vardanyan.

Mediamax Sport has learned from a reliable source that the body of the legendary weightlifter will be moved to Armenia and buried in the Komitas pantheon.

Vardanyan died aged 62 after battling illness for a long time.

The commission is chaired by acting First Deputy PM Ararat Mirzoyan and includes acting Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs Gabriel Ghazaryan, acting Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, other government officials and a relative of Yuri Vardanyan.
