The 3rd Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires have come to a close.

The closing ceremony was short and memorable; it lasted for 45 minutes. IOC President Thomas Bach announced closing of the games and passed the Olympic flag to Dakar, where the next Youth Olympic Games will be held in 4 years.

Bach noted that the Olympic Games in Buenos Aires were fantastically organized, for which he expressed his gratitude.

“I would like to thank all of you for good performances, fair game and your spirit. Having seen this great job, I am convinced that Buenos Aires can also host the Olympic Games,” Thomas Bach said.

Armenia sent 8 athletes to the Olympic Games. Weightlifter Karen Margaryan took gold and wrestler Sahak Hovhannisyan bronze medals.
