Armenian swimmer Artur Barseghyan has reached the final in 50m freestyle in the 2018 Youth Olympic Games held in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
His qualifying result of 23.17 took him to semi-finals, where he improved it to 22.69. The young athlete has a chance to win a medal now.
Earlier, Barseghyan’s coach Armine Avetisyan told Mediamax Sport their priority was to reach the final. “Artur is 16, two years younger than other athletes, so the tournament will be difficult for him. We will consider it a success even if he gets only to the semi-finals.”
