Connor McGregor claims to have overtaken Cristiano Ronaldo as the world’s highest paid athlete in the Forbes list. Real Madrid and Portugal striker has topped the list for two years.

Ronaldo earns EUR 67m annually, but McGregor got GBP 77m from the fight with Floyd Mayweather in 2017.

McGregor was placed at 24 in the 2016/17 Forbes list, but deals with Burger King and Beats by Dre earned him huge money.

“Kings recognize Kings! I am really interested to see this year’s Forbes highest paid athletes list. I have now surpassed Cristiano Ronaldo,” the MMA fighter commented after signing the deal with Burger King.
