One of the best tennis players in the world, Roger Federer has won the Laureus World Sportsman of the Year award.
He walked away with two prizes, also taking the Comeback of the Year. It is the Swiss player’s 6th Laureus accolade, five others are for sportsman of the year.
Federer didn’t compete in 2016 due to injury. He has won seven trophies since returning to the court, including 2 grand slams, and became world number one again by winning the Australian open 5.5 years after he lifted it the last time.
“I wouldn’t be able to do this without my fans. I can’t wait to meet with them, let’s do the same this year!” said Federer.
Serena Williams received the World Sportswoman of the Year award.
