Five judokas to participate in qualifying World Championships



The 30th qualifying World Judo Championships will be held in Astana on August 24. 823 athletes from 120 countries will participate in it.

The Armenia team under Tigran Babayan will be represented by Hovhannes Davtyan (60 kg), Arsen Ghazaryan (66 kg), Andranik Chaparyan, Rafael Davtyan (81 kg) and Zhanna Stankevich (52 kg). The Armenian delegation will leave for Astana tonight.

The winner will get 900 qualifying points and the winners of the second and third places will get 540 and 360 points, respectively.

Beside points, a great money award has been set for winners. The winner will get USD 300 000.
