Torch for Pan-Armenian Games to be lit in Shushi today

President of Artsakh Republic Bako Sahakyan received a group of members of the Pan-Armenian Games International Committee.

The torch for the Pan-Armenian Games will be lit on May 8 signaling the start of the relay. The torch will be carried to Yerevan along the streets of cities in Artsakh and Armenia. For the first time, Artsakh will host the football and volleyball matches of the Pan-Armenian Games.

“The 6th Summer Pan-Armenian Games will be unprecedented not only in the number of participants but also in the geography of the cities. The Games will be held in Yerevan, Stepanakert, Gyumri, Vanadzor, Abovyan and Artashat,” Chairman of Pan-Armenian Games International Committee Ishkhan Zakaryan stated at the meeting.

The Pan-Armenian Games will take place from August 2 to 13. Participants will compete in 10 sports – football, futsal, basketball, volleyball, athletics, tennis, ping-pong, chess, badminton, swimming, beach volleyball, sports dances, golf, handball, arm wrestling, cycling and shooting.
