In One Shot: World Cup and Armenians’ bronze medals



In 2010 Yerevan hosted Greco-Roman World Cup.

The Armenian fans saw intense competition, beautiful fights and bronze medals of the Armenian wrestlers at Karen Demirchyan Sport and Concert Complex.

This edition of Mediamax Sport’s In One Shot series is dedicated to the photo of the Armenian national team after the victory in February. 

The tournament with USD 100k prize fund attracted national teams from Iran, Russia, Georgia, Cuba, Hungary, Turkey and Scandinavian countries. 

Iran became the winner, while Armenia took the bronze, defeating Russia 4:3.

The Russian team also involved Mihran Harutyunyan. His fight against Arman Adikyan in under 66kg weight category was among the most remarkable in the tournament. Due to his injury Harutyunyan wasn’t able to continue the competition and Adikyan won 1 point for the Armenian team.

Levon Julfalakyan’s athletes Roman Amoyan (55kg), Arsen Julfalakyan (74kg) and Yuri Patrikeev (120 kg) registered victory.

Tigran Sahakyan, Vahan Juharyan, Arman Geghamyan, Denis Forov were also in the team.

The Armenian team performed with great enthusiasm and shared the joy and bronze medals with numerous fans, who were constantly supporting and encouraging them.
