Henrikh Mkhitaryan can’t wait for the new season to start, especially given the fact that he will be playing alongside his old Borussia Dortmund teammates Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Sokratis Papastathopoulos.
The Armenian midfielder has said he played a small role in the transfers of Aubameyang and Sokratis to Arsenal by encouraging them via texts. He also noted he stays in touch with his friends from Borussia Dortmund, Manchester United and Shakhtar.
“It’s always nice to play with your old team-mates, with Aubameyang and Sokratis. We’re all looking forward to the new season and we’re going to do our best to help this team reach the top four of the Premier League. It’s going to be a good season for me and the club,” Mirror quotes Mkhitaryan.
The player spoke about Arsenal’s new manager, Unai Emery. According to Mkhitaryan, he had no idea the manager would change.
“You know in football everything happens very quickly and you don’t know what can happen tomorrow. But when I came to this club I felt the warmth of this team is really different, it’s like a family and everyone is taking care of you,” he said.
