Gianluigi Buffon, recognized as the best goalkeeper in the world by FIFA awards on October 23 in London, stated he would retire at the end of this season.

The Italian player will change his mind only if Juventus wins the Champions League.

“There’s no margin (to change mind) because I’m quite convinced of the choices I’ve made. This is my last season and I’m pretty sure of the choices I make. One or two more years wouldn’t add or take away from what I’ve already achieved. The only way would be to win the Champions League. At that point, to try to win the Club World Cup,” said Buffon.

He wants to bid farewell to the football career with a big win. It’s been 11 years since Buffon became world champion, but he lost 3 Champions League finals he played.
