Manchester United has made it to Europa League final. In the second leg of the semi-final, the English club played 1:1 with Celta.
The opening goal was scored by Marouane Fellaini at the 17th minute, and the guests scored near the end of the game. Although the second leg ended in a draw, Manchester United won on the aggregate thanks to the away goal in the first leg and will continue competing in Europa League.
“They [Celta] came as heroes, a small city, a small club that did amazingly well. They did very well, they gave us a very difficult second half. The boys didn’t play a phenomenal match but they fought, they gave everything they had to give and I’m really pleased for them because 14 matches and we are in the final so it’s good,” said Man United manager Jose Mourinho.
Now the English club will face Ajax in the Stockholm final on May 24.
Mourinho believes that the teams to play in the final are the monster teams, but they will do everything do win and qualify for the Champions League.
“I am more than happy, more than happy if we win the Europa League. It’s the second trophy of course in Europe. It gives you the European Super Cup to play for in August so it's a big, big match for us in Stockholm.”
