Marcos Pizzelli: Armenian national team is very important for me

Today Armenian national football team midfielder Marcos Pizzelli answered to journalists’ questions at Yerevan Football Academy.

First Pizzelli received the prize for the third place in “The best football player of the year” category in 2016. The player mentioned once again that Armenian national team was very important for him.

“I am very happy, as receiving this prize means I played well in the national team. I will try to further help the team,” he said.

Marcos’s parents arrived in Armenia for the first time to watch their son playing with the Armenian team at the stadium. The midfielder emphasized that they liked Yerevan very much. “My parents know that Yerevan and Armenia play an important role in my life, so they decided to come. I am convinced that this is not going to be their last visit to Armenia.”

The players noted that he was ready for the qualifying match against Kazakhstan on March 26, though he did not play very often in the composition of his club.

“I am 32 years old, I train a lot on my own to play on the highest level possible. If the coach decides that I am playing, I will do everything possible to meet the expectations. We are well informed about the prize, but first and foremost we are committed to show our best in the game and concentrate on ourselves, regardless of our competitor,” he said.
