Real Madrid and Portugal forward Cristiano Ronaldo has been named Best Player in Europe. The award ceremony took place in Monaco.
This year Ronaldo won the UEFA Champions League with Real Madrid and EURO-2016 with Portugal. Portuguese player scored 51 goals for Madrin and 3 for his national team.
The winner was determined by a special jury of sport journalists and UEFA member associations’ representatives.
Leo Messi was also awarded Best Player in Europe (twice, in 2011 and 2015), as were Andrés Iniesta (2012), Franck Ribéry (2013) and Ronaldo (2014).
