Carlsen becomes winner of Norway Chess Classic ahead of time

The name of the winner of Norway Chess Classic is known one round in advance.

World Champion Magnus Carlsen (Norway) is invincible with 13 points and takes the first place, regardless of the results of the last round. 

 

Levon Aronian is currently in the second place with 9 points. He fell behind Fabiano Caruana (U.S.) in the 8th round with 0.5:1.5 score, but he continues to fight for remaining in the second place. 

 

The last round of the tournament will be held today. The Armenian grandmaster will play the black against Viswanathan Anand (India).
