European Individual Chess Championship among men starts today in Skopje, Macedonia.
The competition has gathered very strong players: 142 out of 357 participants are grandmasters, Armenian Chess Federation reports.
Armenia is represented by 8 players: Sergey Movsisyan, Hrant Melkumyan, Robert Hovhannisyan, Arman Pashikyan, Hayk Martirosyan, Samvel Ter-Sahakyan, Manuel Petrosyan and international master Shant Sargsyan.
The chief arbiter of the European Championship is Ashot Vardapetyan.
