Yerevan/Mediamax /. Russian chess Grandmaster Vladimir Kramnik thinks that Armenian chess player Levon Aronyan "is very talented and is a real contender for becoming a World Champion”.
Vladimir Kramnik said this in his interview to “Echo of Moscow” radio station, Mediamax reports. He noted that Armenia greatly supports Levon Aronyan.
“The Armenian President is also the President of Chess Federation of Armenia and he attends all the tournaments. He is a best friend of Levon, they directly communicate and he helps him. It’s both financial and morale support, an absolute carte blanche”, said Kramnik.
The Russian Grandmaster said he and Levon Aronyan are friends.
“We, the top chess players, are in good terms with each other on the whole. It’s a game and we shouldn’t forget that with all the ambitions, it’s just a game. I always drew a distinction between the game and personal relationships. I am in friendly terms with the same Anand, who won me. And Levon Aronyan and me are friends too”, said Kramnik.
