Chess may become part of 2024 Olympics

A campaign has been officially launched in Paris for chess to be included in 2024 Summer Olympics.

FIDE President Arkady Dvorkovich; DIFE Deputy President, President of French Chess Federation Bachar Kouatly; and 6-times French champion Sophie Milliet told journalists that FIDE has a membership of 189 national federations, and 600 millions of people practice chess in the world.

The rapid and blitz games can draw wide audiences and they are considered for the Paris 2024 competitions, Armenian Chess Federation reports.

Arkady Dvorkovich met with President of the French Olympic Committee Denis Masseglia.
