Petrosyan stays among Sitges Chess Festival leaders after a draw

Manuel Petrosyan retains the leading position in Sunway Sitges International Chess Festival, Barcelona, Spain after Round 7.

Playing with white pieces, Petrosyan drew with Alvar Alonso (Spain) in the seventh round and currently sits 3rd with 6 points.

Alonso is runner-up and Krishnan Sasikiran (India) occupies the top of the table, both having earned 6 points each. The places are assigned by the detailed calculation of points overall.

In Round 8 Petrosyan will face Vassily Ivanchuk (Ukraine).

183 chess players from 41 countries are competing for the title in Sitges festival.
