After finishing 5th in St. Louis Rapid & Blitz, Armenian grandmaster Levon Aronian will start competing in 2018 Sinquefield Cup on August 17.
This stop of Grand Chess Tour has prize fund of USD 300,000 and will gather top 10 chess players.
Aronian’s opponent in the first round kicking off tomorrow is Sergey Karjakin.
Other first round pairings are Maxime Vachier-Lagrave – Magnus Carlsen, Hikaru Nakamura – Viswanathan Anand, Shakhriyar Mamedyarov – Wesley So, and Fabiano Caruana – Alexander Grischuk.
