Levon Aronian climbs to 2nd place in YNM Leuven Rapid tournament

The 2018 YNM Leuven Rapid & Blitz tournament, the first stop on the 2018 Grand Chess Tour, has kicked off in Belgium.

Three rounds of the rapid tournament took place on the first day. Armenian grandmaster Levon Aronian drew with Alexander Grischuk and Viswanathan Anand and beat Hikaru Nakamura, which gave him 4 points in total and the second place.

Current leader of the tournament is Wesley So with 5 points, and Sergey Karjakin sits third.

The rapid tournament will have six more rounds on June 12-14 and the blitz games will take place on June 15-16.
