After drawing with Alexander Grischuk in the fifth round of the Candidates Tournament, Levon Aronian has 2.5 points and shares places 4-6. Current leader is Fabiano Caruana (USA) with 3.5 points.
Aronian, playing white, had advantage over Grischuk in the game, but failed to build on it and earned only a half point.
“Missing on such a good opportunity in the big tournament is unacceptable,” said the Armenian grandmaster after the game.
Today Aronian will play black against Wesley So (USA).
