Levon Aronian, the 5th in FIDE ranking, thinks that the fight for the title of the World Champion is going to be interesting.
“Carlsen could have won in several games, but he drew. He was defeated in the 8th game as a result, and Sergey Karjakin is the leader now with 4,5:3,5. Nevertheless, Mangus is famous for his ability to recover and compete again. I am convinced that he will not give in easily,” Aronian said during an event today in Yerevan.
He remarked that Karjakin now has even more chances, yet the real fight is still ahead, “I know them both pretty well; it is difficult to predict anything, you never know how everything will work out”.
9th game for championship between Magnus Carlsen and Sergey Karjakin will take place today.
