Zaven Andriasyan won the game in the 4th round of Corsican Circuit chess tournament, taking place in Bastia.
He played white against Victor Mikhalevski (Israel) and managed to defeat him.
Armenian grandmaster earned 3.5 points and currently shares places 2-3 with Anton Korobov (Ukraine). They are losing 0.5 point to the leader of the tournament, Alexander Moiseenko (Ukraine).
The players who take places 1-12 in the main tournament of Corsican Circuit will qualify for the knockout stages, where they will compete with former World champion Viswanathan Anand, as well as Maxime Vachier-Lagrave, Teimour Radjabov, and Hou Yifan.
