The 42nd International Chess Olympiad will be launched on September 1 in Baku.

Deputy Chairman of Armenian Chess Federation Smbat Lputyan told Mediamax Sport that our country’s delegation will not participate in that event.

“We talked to the chess players and made the decision that Armenian delegation will not go to Baku and will not participate in the Olympiad,” Lputyan said.

Men’s chess team of Armenia won International Olympiad three times, in 2006, 2008 and 2012.
