Maria Gevorgyan ended the competition in Armenian Women’s Chess championship a tour earlier, becoming champion ahead of time.
The grandmaster played draw with Anna Hayrapetyan in 8th tour and became unavailable for the opponents. She had won 7 times before that and now has 7.5 points.
Susanna Gaboyan, who was the winner of last year championship, is the second, and Hayrapetyan is the third. Both players got 6 points. Last tour will take place today.
Fierce competition continues in men’s championship. 7th tour took place yesterday. Zaven Andriasyan is still the leader, who played draw with Robert Hovhannisyan. Andriasyan has 6 points, 0.5 points more than Pashikyan and Hovhannisyan.
