Vanes Martirosyan is ready to compete with the invincible Gennady Golovkin, holder of the unified WBA (Super), WBC, IBF, and IBO titles.
The battle is set for May 5, U.S. Golovkin was supposed to hold a rematch against Canelo Alvarez, but the latter’s doping test was positive, so he was disqualified.
“I am ready for the battle. I agreed at once without even asking about the financial part first. It would be a great show in Las Vegas and the Armenians would come to support me. I also have a number of Mexican fans. I am sure I can defeat Golovkin, as he has never fought with a boxer of my style. I am just waiting for my sign to battle,” Martirosyan said.
