Former World champion in two weight categories Bernard Hopkins wants to have a bout with WBO Champion Arthur Abraham.
“I’m not retired. I want to make another historic achievement. I skipped over the super middleweight division. I want from 160 straight to 175 and they said I was crazy. I see a guy out there in Arthur Abraham. He’s a big name,” Hopkins told BoxingScene.com.
According to Hopkins, Abraham is a very durable guy to fight and has one of the toughest defenses. Hopkins said the fight is in the works and the details should be ironed out soon.
Hopkins hopes for the fight to happen by January of 2016 as a celebration for his 51st birthday. Hopkins also wasn’t shy about fighting Abraham in Europe.
