Mediamax Sport summed up 2013 football year and chose the year’s five outstanding footballers.
The results of the voting of Mediamax media company’s employees revealed that midfielder for the Armenia national football team and the German Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund Henrikh Mkhitaryan tops the list.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
2013 was beyond doubt successful for Henrikh as he set several records and turned into reality one of the most spoken of and expensive transfers.
Still, early this year the Armenian midfielder was playing in “Shakhtar” Donetsk and along with the team earned all possible titles – Champion of Ukraine, Ukrainian Cup and the Super Cup. But Mkhitaryan has also achieved individual success as he became the best striker with 25 goals. Since summer, he has been successfully protecting the colors of “Borussia” by scoring three goals in 15 matches.
The midfielder has set another record in the Armenian national team, becoming the best striker with 12 goals.
Yura Movsisyan, who plays the forward for the Armenian national team and Spartak Moscow, is the second on the list.

He has been an effective player in the national team. In World Cup qualifying round Movsisyan played in 6 matches, scored four goals and made two goal transfers.
Movsisyan is also one of the leading players of the Moscow team and with his 12 goals is among the best strikers in 2013-2014 Russian Cup.
Right-winger for the Armenian National Team and Spartak Moscow Araz Ozbiliz comes third on the list.

Even though Ozbiliz has only recently joined the Armenian National Team, he has already managed to stand firm in the team and become one of the leading football players. He pulled the attention of “Spartak” leadership due to his good play in Kuban Krasnodar Team, and in 2013 he transferred to the Moscow team, where he played in 18 matches and scored 4 goals.
Roman Berezovsky, who has been playing as an Armenian goalkeeper for rather long years now, comes fourth. Even though the 39-year-old goalkeeper has had only six matches and has missed 8 balls in the qualifying round of World Cup 2014, he has stood out with his wonderful saves and has saved our team more than once. It should be recalled that he is still playing in Dynamo Moscow.

Midfielder for the Armenian National Team and Anzhi Makhachkala Karlen Mkrtchyan closes the top 5. The midfielder doesn’t always appear in the center of attention in the field but it’s due to his efforts the team manages to have hit attacks. And the goal he scored against the Czech national football team was extremely nice and important.

This year Mkrtchyan changed his club “registration” and transferred from Donetsk Metalurh to Anzhi. He has scored one goal in the five matches he had there.
Mediamax staff voted for the best Armenian coach as well. Armenian national football team former head coach Vardan Minasyan earned this title. Even though he didn’t manage to take the Armenian national team to 2014 World Cup Final, due to him the team advanced in FIFA ranking.

Over February 2010, after he became the head coach of the national team, and December 2013 period the Armenian national team has advanced by 69 points and until recently was the 34th, which is a record for it (presently, it is the 35th).
Mediamax congratulates all winners, wishes them a successful year and promises to present to its audience an exclusive interview with the 2013 best Armenian football player.
